The number of new cases of COVID-19 reported on Monday 23 November 2020, in the last 24 hours, is 4,207 and that of deaths is 130. 1,160 patients are hospitalized in the ICU.

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 4,207 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2.

The highest number of daily tests (41,238) was performed on 23 October 2020.

Since the start of the pandemic to date, 422,852 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed in Romania.

296,844 patients were declared cured.

The largest number of new cases was registered in Bucharest.

Sibiu is at the top of the areas with the highest rate of infection.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 has exceeded 10,000 cases

Until this date, 10,177 people diagnosed with SARS infection – CoV – 2 died.

“Between 22.11.2020 (10:00) and 23.11.2020 (10:00) have been reported 130 dead (74 men and 56 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in the hospitals of Alba, Arges, Arad, Bucharest, Bacau, Bihor, Braila, Brasov, Buzau, Calarasi, Constanta, Covasna, Dambovita, Dolj, Gorj, Galati, Ilfov, Iasi, Maramures, Mures, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Salaj, Suceava, Timis, Valcea, Vrancea and Vaslui.

Of these, four deaths were recorded in the age group 40-49, nine deaths in the age group 50-59, 44 deaths in the age group 60-69, 34 deaths in the age group 70- 79 years and 39 deaths in the over 80 category.

125 of the recorded deaths are of some patients with comorbidities, one deceased patient had no comorbidities and for four deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far “, GCS also reported.

Large number of patients at ATI

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,685. Of these, 1,160 are hospitalized at ATI.

Few tests on the weekend

To date, 3,908,681 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 9,938 were performed in the last 24 hours, 7,488 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2,450 upon request.

Most of the tests were reported on October 23, 2020.

On the Romanian territory, 48,034 people confirmed infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home and 12,459 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 82,274 people are quarantined at home and 15 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,334 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112.

Almost 9,000 fines in 24 hours

Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on 22 November this year, 8,948 fines, for a total of 1,737,293 lei.
Moreover, through the competent police structures, 3 crimes were ascertained yesterday to combat the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 criminal code.

The situation of Romanians abroad

As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,864 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,935 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in Great Britain, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.

Among Romanian citizens confirmed with novel coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
Coronavirus pandemic record in Romania

The largest number of new cases were reported on Wednesday November 18, 2020. GCS reported that no less than 10,269 infections, in 24 hours.

Most of the ATI patients were registered on November 16. 1,187 Romanians were in intensive care at that time.

The largest number of deaths was broadcast on 11 November (203).

To date, over 1.3 million people have died from the coronavirus.
