After Denmark, now it’s Poland’s turn: for the first time, a corona epidemic has been detected in a Polish fur farm in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. The animal concerned: the mink. The Medical University of Gdansk (Poland) announced that eight minks have been infected with the pathogen Sars-CoV-2. A total of 91 minks were examined.
According to information, genetic studies are still ongoing to determine the origin of the virus. The results currently indicate the possibility that humans have passed the virus to mink.

Not just a problem in Poland
It is not new that minks can contract the corona virus: in addition to Poland, corona infections have also been detected in Sweden, France and the Netherlands. Mass killings in Denmark and especially their photos have been around the world.
Reason for the mass killings in Denmark: A mutated form of the coronavirus raged on Danish mink farms. So the authorities decided to kill the mink. Presumably, this form of coronavirus can make vaccines less effective. By November 15, Denmark alone had killed about 1.9 million mink by gas. To date, between 15 and 17 million more have likely been added.
Murder is legal in Denmark
The killing of mink has even been officially legalized in Denmark: according to the Ministry of Economy, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s social democratic minority government reached an agreement with its leftist supporters on 16 November.
This allows for killing of all mink in Denmark, including healthy minks outside of the risk areas around mink farms with crown outbreaks. The maintenance of mink will also be banned until the end of 2021. (myi)
