The AstraZeneca vaccine should be stored in a cool place at temperatures between two and eight degrees. It is based on the weakened version of a chimpanzee cold virus.
Prepared all over the world
Astra Zeneca is now preparing for the approval of health authorities around the world. The first tentative results of the vaccine come from the UK. AstraZeneca is developing the vaccine together with the University of Oxford. Clinical trials are also underway in the United States, Japan, Russia, South Africa, Kenya and Latin America. Up to 60,000 test people around the world will be involved. AstraZeneca has also applied for approval from Swissmedic in Switzerland.
The EU has already obtained 300 million doses of the vaccine. Switzerland will receive 5.3 million vaccine doses of this.
