Health authorities announced on Saturday, in the last 24 hours, 16 cases of contamination, one less than the previous day. Of these, 9 are “imported”.

In the case of local contamination, five were registered in Tianjin and two in Shanghai, reports News.ro.

The three-day test program was launched on Saturday in Tianjin, where a community (1,900 people) has been quarantined since Friday.

China reported 18 asymptomatic cases on November 20, four more than the previous day.

Since the discovery of the novel coronavirus in Wuhan late last year, China has reported a total of 86,414 cases of infection and 4,634 associated deaths.

Also on Saturday, the Japanese capital Tokyo announced a new record number of infections detected in 24 hours: 539. It is the third consecutive day that the number of cases recorded here has exceeded 500, according to NHK, cites Reuters.
