Biden said in a statement that he had chosen Yellen as the Treasury Department, confirming the news in the US media in recent weeks.

He also announced that Biden has elected Neera Tanden as Director of the Office of Budget and Management of the White House (OMB) and Cecilia Rouse as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
Biden noted that he will appoint several years of consultants, Jared Bernstein and Heather Boushey, as members of the Economic Advisory Council.
“When we start working to contain the epidemic, this is the team that will provide immediate economic comfort to the American people during this economic crisis and help us make our economy better than ever,” Biden said in his statement.
Biden also said the business team in question was “respected” and “tested” in public office.
