The Prime Minister of Bahrain, Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has died at the age of 84. He was prime minister since 1971.
Al Jazeera said Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman had been treated for a while at Mayo Clinic Hospital in the United States and his death occurred in the morning hours. After his death, a week of mourning was declared in Bahrain.
