The disputed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said on Tuesday that protesters against his government have committed acts of terrorism and that authorities would have an adequate response, the dpa reported, according to Agerpres.
Lukashenko said at a meeting in Minsk that protesters blocked the railways, which “could lead to serious accidents and the deaths of many people,” according to comments from the state news agency BelTa.

“These are actions by organized criminal groups with signs of terrorism,” Lukashenko warned. “When the red line is crossed, the government has to respond,” he added.
Mass protests have been held in Minsk every week since the disputed elections in early August, which opposition supporters say were rigged to keep Lukashenko in power.
