A week before the election, Trump imposes his judge on the court

The president appointed Amy Coney Barrett to fill the vacancy left on the Supreme Court by the passage of progressive judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The US Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett as the new Supreme Court judge on Monday, October 26, eight days before the presidential election, thus consolidating the conservative majority in the country’s most important court.

Barrett was confirmed with 52 votes in favor – all Republican senators – and 48 against – all Democrats and a Republican lawmaker.

Last September, President Donald Trump appointed Conservative judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill the vacancy left on the Supreme Court by the passing of progressive judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
