A new high COVID toll in the last 24 hours: over 10,100 infections and 167 deaths | News, News Romania | Freedom

The Strategic Communication Group announced Thursday 10,108 new cases of coronavirus infected people after performing 36,963 tests, 20,954 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 16,009 on request.

Apart from the recently confirmed cases, following the re-examination of already positive patients, 1,334 people were reconfirmed.

To date, on November 19, 393,851 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania. 269,590 patients were declared cured.

167 deaths from COVID

The death toll remains high. 91 men and 76 women infected with COVID-19 have died in the past 24 hours.

Of these, two deaths were recorded in the age category 30-39 years, 8 deaths, in the age category 40-49 years, 13 deaths, in the age category 50-59 years, 41 deaths, in the age category 60-69 , 59 deaths, in the age group 70-79 years and 44 deaths, in the category over 80 years.

160 of the deaths recorded concerned some patients with comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not have comorbidities and for 3 patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

To date, 9,596 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

1,131 patients, hospitalized in ATI

In health care units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,447. Of these, 1,131 are hospitalized at ATI.

In Romania, 48,140 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 13,281 people are in institutional isolation.

In addition, 79,434 people are quarantined at home and 19 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
