A 12-man commando, a car bomb: the escape reveals the first details of the attack in Iran

For days, waves have been rising over the case of the murdered Iranian nuclear physicist Mohsen Fachrisadeh. Now, a few days later, the first details of the attack are known. A twelve-man commando carried out the attack, including snipers. The Iranian journalist Mohamad Ahwaze reports. He mentions leaks in the Iranian power apparatus. Ahwaze made a name for himself in the spring with revelations about the actual extent of the crown pandemic in the country.

About 60 people were involved in the attack, 50 of whom provided logistical support in the background. A commando, made up of twelve highly specialized attackers, was in the city of Absard, 50 kilometers from Tehran, and was spying on Fachrisadeh. It was known that Fachrisadeh was planning a trip to his holiday home. Then the planning of the specific attack would begin.

Suddenly the current stopped

About half an hour before the convoy passed the roundabout in front of the city walls, the entire region was cut off. A Nissan pickup truck loaded with explosives exploded as the convoy passed. Then the hail of bullets began: parts of the commando were waiting in a vehicle and several attackers on motorcycles were also involved.

But Ahwaze says the 62-year-old didn’t die in a hail of bullets. The head of command dragged him out of the car and executed him. Then the attackers broke up. Nobody was arrested.

Fachrisadeh and some of his bodyguards were initially taken to a nearby hospital by a police helicopter. However, it was practically out of order due to the power outage.

Meanwhile, the Iranian news agency FNA (Fars News Agency) paints a different picture of the attack. The convoy of the nuclear physicist was attacked by a remote-controlled machine gun mounted on a pickup. The 62-year-old nuclear physicist went down and was then deliberately killed. The pickup exploded shortly after.

No transparency: Iran is turning

However: the news agency is officially independent, but is considered close to the regime. Your account supports the official version of the Iranian government. For them the accident is an unparalleled shame. It is difficult to convey that a command of foreign agents is supposed to have killed a leading figure in the Iranian nuclear program and then fled undisturbed without losing face. Iran blames the US and Israel for the crime.

The New York Times also assumes that the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad is behind the plot. Cite a source unspecified in US government circles. With so-called Kidon squads, the Mossad has units operating behind enemy lines. They were founded in response to attacks on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics.
