In the last week of Venezuela’s electoral campaign for parliamentarians on December 6, the ruling party believes that a person who does not vote should receive some sort of “food free quarantine”. This was proposed by Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the ruling party of the state of Bolívar, in southern Venezuela.

She said.

Diosdado Cabello’s statement comes two weeks after he himself said voting was almost mandatory and that people had to be searched house by house to verify that they had arrived at the polling station.
FOOD INSECURITY
According to the UN 2020 report, one in three people in Venezuela has difficulty putting food on the table and consume the necessary nutritional minimums.
The survey, based on 8,375 questionnaires, reveals that a large number of Venezuelans eat only cereals, roots or tubers daily and that hyperinflation has made their wages unavailable to purchase the most basic goods.
“A total of 9.3 million people, about one third of the population, suffer from what is technically called moderate or severe food insecurity”, says the World Food Program, which carried out the study at the invitation of the government.
Food insecurity is defined as “insufficient food intake, which can be temporary (when it occurs in times of crisis), seasonal or chronic (when it occurs continuously) “.
