It was announced that some cats with a new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) have also been killed in Denmark.

According to reports from the newspaper Dagbladet Holstebro-Struer, the State Serum Institute (SSI) conducted Covid-19 tests on 33 cats at 7 mink farms where mink was recently culled. Twelve of the cats from the two farms were infected and some of the cats were killed.

Lone Nielsen, director of the cat rights association Kattens Vaern, confirmed that she helped the Institute in killing the cats. Nielsen did not provide information on how many cats were killed.
