“TeleSUR returns to the Entel network. The signal of the most important multimedia in Latin America, is back in Bolivia from today. Censorship is not the way of popular democracy. We celebrate freedom of expression, ”announced the Bolivian Deputy Ministry of Communications in a message posted on his Twitter account.
The de facto government of Áñez, which took power after the coup against former president Evo Morales in November 2019, has ordered the withdrawal of the teleSUR signal from Entel’s satellite and fiber optic distribution service.
It also pressured all other cable and satellite TV operators to do the same.
The president of the multimedia platform, Patricia Villegas, said for her part in a tweet that “today teleSUR returns to Bolivia. The first platform to replace our signal is ENTEL ”.
Come back today @teleSURtv in Bolivia. The first platform to replace our signal is ENTEL. We expect the same behavior from cable operators who have been forced by the dictatorship to eliminate us from their programming offerings. https://t.co/W2306Z9bY7

Media correspondent in Bolivia, Freddy Morales, recalled that the de facto government of Áñez removed TeleSUR on November 21, 2019, “from both ENTEL and other cable TV services. This evening ENTEL restores our signal on IPTV and DTH ”.
In addition, former president Evo Morales celebrated the return of the Latin American news to the Bolivian television spectrum.
We salute him @teleSURtv Back to #Bolivia cable from Entel, a year after the government effectively removed it from the network, which hasn’t stopped it from continuing to fight disinformation through its networks.
