Hungary: pastry shop can no longer keep up with the production of masked Santa Claus

First came the criticism, then the praise – and now Laszlo Rimoczi can barely keep up with the production. After the pastry chef advertised his chocolate Santa wearing a protective mask on Facebook, the waves picked up. Rimoczi currently produces up to 100 Santa Clauses every day for a shop outside Budapest, Reuters reported. It is not enough to meet the demand.

“Wow, what a tsunami comment our chocolate-masked Santa has caused,” Rimoczi wrote in a Facebook post. He just wanted to put a smile on people’s faces in difficult times.

“I need the humor, I need it now!” Wrote one Facebook user. “I’m happy with every little joke like this. I think it’s creative, “said another.

“I think when Santa Claus arrives he will have to wear a mask as well. He must set a good example, especially for children, ”says the pastry chef. Since the unmasked Santa is much less in demand than the masked one, Rimoczi is now in the process of retrofitting. They will be removed from the market, unpacked and even a mask, made of marzipan, by the way. They are not cheap. Rimoczi offers his creation in his webshop for the equivalent of 5 francs.
