Linda Thomas Greenfield, black, will be the Permanent Representative of the United Nations (UN). Greenfield worked as a career diplomat in the US State Department for 35 years.
Joe Biden chose Alejandro Mayorkas of Latin American origin to the Ministry of Homeland Security. Mayorkas was Deputy Minister of Homeland Security during Obama’s tenure.
Biden also chose Avril Haines for the United States National Intelligence Directorate. Haines has held the positions of former CIA Vice President and Deputy National Security Advisor in the Baracak Obama administration.

Blinken served as a foreign policy consultant for Biden and Kamala Harris, who was elected vice president during the campaign, and previously was director of the think tank Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
Before serving in the public service, Blinken was a reporter for The New Republic and wrote on foreign policy, author of “Ally Versus Ally: America, Europe, and the Siberian Pipeline Crisis”.
Blinken received his high school studies in Paris and studied law at Harvard University and Columbia.
