The Regeneron company’s antibody cocktail can be applied to high-risk patients in the treatment of coronavirus in the US.
The approved antibody cocktail had previously been used in the treatment of US President Donald Trump when he contracted the coronavirus. The antibody cocktail is claimed to help people with corona virus overcome the disease with mild symptoms without the need for hospitalization.
Experts say the antibody cocktail should be given early in the disease. It is not permitted for use in hospitalized patients or patients requiring oxygen therapy.
The company announced that it could prepare a cocktail of antibodies sufficient for 80,000 patients by the end of November and 300,000 patients by January 2021.
Earlier this month, the FDA also gave “emergency use approval” to an antibody drug from “Eli Lilly”.
