“I want to be an angel like them”

Raiden Gonzalez is only four years old and is the protagonist of a story that can make anyone’s heart tremble. The boy lost his parents to covid-19 just 100 days away and now says he “wants to be an angel”, just like them.

Raiden, who lives in the US state of Texas, celebrates his fifth birthday on Thursday, November 28 and, speaking on CNN, his great-aunt, Margie Bryant, shared her story.

Raiden’s 33-year-old father died in June from covid-19. In October, Mariah, his mother, ended up not resisting the virus. The aunt, who is now taking care of the baby, said she said she wanted to be “an angel” like her parents.
