The authorities transmitted new worrying data on the evolution of the coronavirus in our country on Thursday 12 November 2020. In the last 24 hours, 10,142 new cases and 121 deaths have been recorded. There are 1,152 patients admitted to ATI.

From the beginning of the pandemic to date, 334,236 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed in our country.

224,916 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 10,142 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2, being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Aside from recently confirmed cases, after re-examining patients who were already positive, 2,599 people were positively reconfirmed.

Over 120 deaths in 24 hours

To date, 8,510 people have died diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection, according to the GCS report.

Between 11.11.2020 (10:00) and 12.11.2020 (10:00) they were reported 121 dead (77 men and 44 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Arges, Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Botosani, Braila, Brasov, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Constanta, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Iasi, Maramures, Mures, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Suceava, Teleorman, Timis, Valcea, Vaslui, Vrancea, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, one death was recorded in the age group 30-39 years, five deaths in the age group 40-49 years, 10 deaths in the age group 50-59 years, 37 deaths in the age category 60- 69, 37 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 31 deaths in the category over 80 years.

117 of the deaths recorded concern some patients with comorbidities, one deceased patient had no comorbidities and for three deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported so far.

The most affected areas

The capital and 19 counties are in the red scenario with infection rates above 3 per thousand inhabitants. Of these, Sibiu County has an infection coefficient of 7.4. Cluj County is approaching 7 per thousand, with a rate of 6.99. Bucharest has fallen below the threshold of 5 per thousand inhabitants.

The city of Bucharest has again registered the newest cases in the country, almost a thousand new diseases, reaching a widespread contagion coefficient of 4.99 per thousand inhabitants. Three other counties in the country also reported over four hundred new cases: Cluj, Hunedoara and Brasov.

ATI patient record

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12,852. Of these, 1,152 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 3,593,720 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 35,762 were performed in the last 24 hours, 20,855 based on case definition and medical protocol and 14,907 upon request.

In Romania, 44,243 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in home isolation and 13,013 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 81,163 people are in home quarantine and 19 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

Over 8,800 fines


In the last 24 hours, 4,566 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 816 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), mainly open to inform citizens.

Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on 11 November this year, 8,861 penalties for minor crimes, for an amount of 1,418,356 lei.
Furthermore, through the competent police structures, 8 crimes were ascertained yesterday for combating the fight against diseases, an act provided and punished by art. 352 criminal code.

The Ministry of the Interior has activated, starting from 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the health protection regulations can be reported.

The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

Romanians abroad

As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,862 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in Great Britain, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one each in Argentina,
Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, the Republic of Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal and Egypt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.

Among Romanian citizens confirmed with novel coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Coronavirus record in Romania

The highest number of daily cases to date was reported on November 6, 2020. No less than 10,260 new infections were registered in 24 hours.

On October 23, the largest number of tests was performed: 41,238, in 24 hours.

The highest number of deaths was recorded on 11 November 2020. Authorities then reported that 203 Romanians have died from the coronavirus.

On 10 November 2020, the highest number of patients admitted to the ICU was reported (1,093).

Worldwide, over 52 million people have been confirmed with the new coronavirus. Another 1.3 million died from COVID-19.

Of the more than 14 million active cases, more than 53,000 patients are in serious condition.

The most affected nations in the world are the United States, India and Brazil.

Romania ranks 29th in the world for number of infections, according to centralized data on the worldometers.info platform.
