Venezuelan businessman Oswaldo Cisneros formed a major mobile telecommunications company by acquiring Digitel and joining two other Venezuelan companies, Digicel and Infonet.
In his entrepreneurial history he has owned companies such as Pepsi Cola Venezuela, of which he held the presidency until 1996 and was the head of a petrochemical company that financed the state-owned PDVSA, in its plan to increase the production of Petroleum.
He was also a shareholder in the gas company Canacol Energy and made millions of investments in the food industry.
Oswaldo Cisneros, who died in Miami, was the grandson of Diego Cisneros Bermúdez, founder of the powerful Cisneros organization, owner of, among others, mass media, entertainment, digital media, real estate investment and tourism developments.
