In France, Jean-Luc Reitzer, a deputy from the center-right Republican Party (LR), reacted to Armenia’s invasion of Azerbaijan. In his letter to the deputies, Reitzer said that Armenia has occupied 7 regions in addition to Nagorno-Karabakh belonging to Azerbaijan since 1994.
“ARMENIA HAS BEEN VIOLATED SINCE 1994”
Pointing out that Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity has been violated since 1994, Reitzer recalled that the 4 relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have condemned this occupation.
“WE FALL A CONSEQUENTIAL SITUATION IN MANY SUBSTANCES”
Affirming that France, one of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), should remain neutral on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Reitzer noted that if France is on the side of one of the two countries, will find itself in a contradictory position on many international issues.
“SHOULD BE RESOLVED ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL LAW”
Reitzer stressed that the Nagorno-Karabakh problem should be resolved within the framework of international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
