Scientific committee chairman Jean-François Delfraissy said in a statement to the RTL channel that France is on the verge of 100,000 cases a day.

“There are over 50,000 cases a day. As the Scientific Committee, we estimate we are on the verge of 100,000 cases a day,” Delfraissy said, and noted that the number of patients in intensive care units has increased significantly.

“WE ARE IN A VERY DIFFICULT ERROR IN CRITICAL EVENT

“We are in a very difficult, even critical situation,” Delfraissy said, noting that the second wave, officially announced, will be slower than expected, given the cases diagnosed in the country, undiagnosed and with mild symptoms.

Stressing that the steps to be taken should be swift and of a high standard, Delfraissy said it is on the agenda to maintain the wider partial curfew on weekdays and all day on weekends.
