What has Donald Trump (74) done since the US elections on November 3? A glance at his calendar reveals: apparently nothing.
Aside from two lunch dates with his Vice President Mike Pence (61), the President of the United States had virtually no appointments recorded in the past two weeks. “No public event scheduled” is on the agenda for 10 days out of 16. Trump once attended a memorial event with his wife Melania (50), held a press conference a week ago and went twice to play golf. That’s all.
Trump tweeted a lot
“I’ve been reporting on the White House for twelve years. Aside from the holidays, I can’t remember so little in a presidential calendar, “writes New York Times reporter Michael D. Shear on Twitter.
What did Trump do during this time, other than tweeting excessively? Every day in the public calendar a “Time to call the indoor pool” is entered. What lies behind this, the US media revealed early in Trump’s term: the US president often watches television.
Two years ago, the US news site “Axios” released a detailed calendar that a White House employee allegedly leaked. The calendar showed that Trump schedules an extraordinary amount of “executive time” – unstructured work time that, according to reports, he hardly uses productively.
What is Biden doing?
Future president Joe Biden (78), however, is much busier. Since his election victory, he has been busy building his future staff and handing over the office, even as Donald Trump is holding him back. He and his future Vice President Kamala Harris (56) regularly appear before the press in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.
So far, Biden has already presented expert advice from the crown, among other things. Tackling the crown crisis is his top priority ahead of the worst health crisis in decades. Today, Friday, he will celebrate his 78th birthday – when he is sworn in in January, he will be the oldest president of the United States ever. Ronald Reagan’s tenure ended in 1989 when he was 77 years and 349 days.
