Biden brings major swing states – the state of affairs on Thursday morning

Joe Biden won both swing states of Wisconsin and Michigan on Thursday night. The results from the states of Georgia and Nevada are expected to be announced Thursday. If Biden wins just one of these states, he will be the next president of the United States.

First of all: It can take several days or even weeksuntil all the votes for the US presidential election are counted and the winner is determined. Due to the crown pandemic, more Americans than usual have voted by mail. In Pennsylvania, for example, the letter’s votes are not expected to be counted in full until Friday. Because the winner receives 20 electoral votes, Pennsylvania is considered a particularly important state.

However, the race could to be decided on Thursday. The result is still open in these states:

  • Georgia (98 percent of votes counted)
    with 16 voters
  • Nevada (75 percent of votes counted)
    with 6 voters
  • North Carolina (94 percent of votes counted)
    with 15 voters
  • Pennsylvania (89% of votes counted)
    with 20 voters

Donald Trump is currently 56 votes short of a win. His challenger Joe Biden is ahead with just 6 missing votes.

This is the intermediate result

No final results are expected for North Carolina and Pennsylvania on Thursday. In Georgia and Nevada, however, there may be a showdown on Thursday. And this is what it currently looks like for the two candidates there:

  • Georgia
    Trump: 50.2 percent 👈
    Biden: 48.6 percent
    Difference in grade (5:45): 31.306
  • Nevada
    Trump: 48.7 percent
    Biden: 49.3 percent 👈
    Difference in grades (5:45): 7,653

Here’s how Biden wins

If Biden also wins in Georgia, the presidential election result will be clear: with 280 electoral votes would be the winner.

Biden’s victory from Nevada is enough. Because with these six electoral votes he would get exactly 270.

This is how Trump wins

Even if Trump Georgia wins, it will be tight for him. It would therefore be included 230 electoral votes. If he can catch up with Biden in Nevada, he’ll get 236 votes. If you add North Carolina, which is only counted later, but where Trump clearly has the advantage, the president has 251 votes, still not enough for a win.

In that case he would have had to vote in 20 Pennsylvania I hope it doesn’t get counted until the end of this week. In 2016 she won just ahead of Hilary Clinton in the state, and in 2012 the disputed spot went to Barack Obama.

Donald Trump must now win in all remaining states.
