1,249 patients, in serious condition

According to the report sent by the authorities on Saturday 28 November 2020, 8,134 new cases of COVID-19 and 161 deaths caused by the disease have been recorded in the last 24 hours. 1,249 patients are hospitalized in the Intensive Care Units.

Since the start of the pandemic to date, there have been 465,982 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) in Romania.

335,764 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at national level, compared to the last report, they were recorded 8,134 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2, being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Aside from recently confirmed cases, following retesting of already positive patients, 1,298 people were positively reconfirmed.

Constanta has the highest incidence of disease. Bucharest has the largest number of new cases found in the past 24 hours.

Over 11,000 deaths in Romania

To date, in Romania, according to the GCS report, 11,045 people have died diagnosed with SARS – CoV – 2 infection.

Between 27.11.2020 (10:00) and 28.11.2020 (10:00) they were reported 161 dead (94 men and 67 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in the hospitals of Alba, Arges, Arad, Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Bihor, Botosani, Braila, Brasov, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Cluj, Constanta, Covasna, Dambovita, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iasi, Maramures, Mehedinti, Neamt, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timis, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, one death was recorded in the 30-39 age group, one death in the 40-49 age group, 16 deaths in the 50-59 age group, 40 deaths in the 60-69 age group, 56 deaths in the age category 70-79 and 47 deaths in the category over 80 years.

151 of the recorded deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, e 10 deceased patients showed no comorbidities.

Patient record at ATI

In health care units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 13,040. Of these, 1.249 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 4,081,557 tests have been developed nationwide. Of these, 33,021 were performed in the past 24 hours, 20,669 based on case definition and medical protocol, and 12,352 on request.

On the Romanian territory, 46,389 people confirmed with new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 11,952 people are in institutionalized isolation. In addition, 70,150 people are quarantined at home and there are 62 people in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 4,859 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 618 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), which was mainly open to inform citizens.

More than 6,000 fines for non-compliance with anti-pandemic measures

Following the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmerie applied, on November 27 this year, 6,182 fines, for an amount of 950,700 lei.
Moreover, through the competent structures of the Police, 8 crimes against the fight against diseases were ascertained yesterday, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 criminal code.


Starting from 04.07.2020, the Ministry of the Interior has activated a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection regulations can be reported.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

Romanians abroad

As for the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 6,914 Romanian citizens were confirmed infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,936 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,056 in Germany, 167 in the United Kingdom, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the United States, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 11 in the Republic of Moldova and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan,
Sweden, the Republic of Congo, Qatar, the Vatican, Portugal and Egypt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 127 Romanian citizens abroad, 32 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed infected with the new coronavirus, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Record of the coronavirus epidemic in Romania

The highest number of patients admitted to ATI was recorded on November 26. 1,226 Romanians were in serious condition in hospitals.

The largest number of deaths was recorded on 11 November. 203 Romanians have died from COVID-19.

The largest number of new cases were reported on 18 November. 10,269 the tests were positive at the time.

The largest number of newly recovered people were reported on November 25: 9,697 the Romans defeated the disease.

All over the world, over 62 million have so far been contaminated with SARS-VOC-2. Of these, the fish 1.4 million died, according to centralized data on the worldometers.info platform.

Of the more than 17 million active cases, over 100,000 are critically ill patients.

Romania ranks 26th in the world by number of cases.
