Venezuelans wishing to remain in Peru, including about 11,000 whose temporary residence permit (PTP) is about to expire, they must obligatorily process their residence in the country, said the National Migration Superintendent.
The humanitarian and political crisis in Venezuela has caused the entry of 650,000 Venezuelans to Peru in the last two years, which is why the Peruvian government has implemented the temporary residence permit (PTP) to give them permission to work , study and have access to public health for a year.
According to Migraciones, over 15,000 Venezuelans, whose PTP has expired, have submitted their applications for residency in Peru and 9,000 have already received immigration documents.
In this sense, Migrations has invited Venezuelans to Peru to respect this process, since 11,000 PTP will expire in January, February and March, which is why they will remain in an irregular migratory state, according to a press release.
Until December 31, 2018, the deadline to begin the PTP process, over 495,000 Venezuelans have taken the necessary steps to obtain this permission.
Requirements to apply for foreign resident status in Peru, for a period of one year which may be extended, shall not have been absent from the country for more than 183 consecutive days or alternated since its last outflow as a PTP beneficiary, within a period of 365 days. , without the authorization of Migrations.
Moreover, not having a criminal, judiciary or police background, national or international, or alarms registered in the international police system (Interpol).
Moreover, not having been sanctioned with the mandatory departure from the country, not posing a threat to internal security, not being a fugitive or with false documents, among others.
It is also necessary to inform the Migrations of the activities carried out in Peru during the period of validity of the granted PTP, providing supporting documentation and updating personal information.
The government of the Peruvian president, Martín Vizcarra, called in consultation with his business agent in Venezuela, after taking Nicolás Maduro to a second government mandate, which Lima does not recognize as legitimate.
In addition, the Peruvian government ordered Maduro and a hundred Venezuelan leaders and associates to block entry into the country as a measure of pressure.
