The tournament takes place in collaboration with the League of Arab States and the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of Arab Youth and Sports. The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Egypt has been in charge of organizing the tournament under the technical supervision of the Arab Federation for Electronic Sports and the Logistic Regulatory Supervision of the Egyptian Federation for Gaming.
The virtual opening ceremony took place through Zoom visual communication technology including the speech by Dr Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, who thanked the Arab League represented by Secretary General Ahmed Abul-Gheit, the Technical Secretariat Assistant to the Arab Youth and Sports Council of Ministers and the Director of Youth and Sports Administration at the League of Arab States, appreciating the efforts and cooperation The Arab Federation for Electronic Sports praised the wide participation of young people from 16 Arab countries, reflecting the great spread that e-sports are seeing among young people from various Arab countries, so the Egyptian minister officially announced the opening of the championship and the start of competitions and wished everyone success the participants.
For his part, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, president of the Arab Federation for Electronic Sports, thanked the participants, organizers, tournament owners, strategic partners and sponsors for their efforts and contributions. to the success of the tournament, noting that e-sports have taken a big leap in the Arab world in recent years This is why the Arab Federation for E-Sports initiated its duties towards managing the electronic sports system in the Arab world in the framework of the will to maximize the positive aspects and publish electronic games in a thoughtful way avoiding the negative aspects by forming specialized and professional committees to organize competitions and establish regulations and laws governing electronic games in the Arab world. The Arab Electronic Sports Federation will provide all technical support for the success of the tournament and all Arab electronic games programs and activities.
For his part, Abdel Moneim Al-Shairi, Director of the Department of Youth and Sports of the League of Arab States, conveyed the greetings of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, underlining the enthusiasm of the Department of Youth and Sports and the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Youth and Sports Council of Ministers to pay attention to electronic sports and encourage young Arabs to play electronic games.
Sheriff Abdel-Baqi, president of the Egyptian Electronic Sports Federation, gave a speech in which he praised the response of the League of Arab States and the Youth and Sports Administration in supporting Arab e-sports due to their many advantages for Arab youth and in fulfilling their ambitions to keep pace with technological development through electronic games.
The organizing committee of the tournament was formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Amr Al-Haddad, Deputy Minister of Sports in Egypt and his deputy Hisham El-Taher, Secretary General of the Arab Federation for Electronic Sports, Sherif Abdel-Baqi, President of the Egyptian Federation for Electronic Games as CEO of the tournament, Mahmoud Abdel-Azabiiz, Director of Sports Federations for Specific Games, President of the Administrative Committee Abdel-Nabi and Omar Khaled Technical Affairs.
Three games have been approved: FIFA 21, Fortnite and League of Legend
