GENEVA (Reuters) – The World Health Organization on Monday urged countries to carefully consider plans for next ski season to manage the risks associated with people converging on small areas where the novel coronavirus could be spread.
But the global health agency declined to offer a specific recommendation to governments grappling with the question of whether to allow snow sports this winter.
“We ask all countries to look into the ski season and other reasons for mass gatherings and to look very, very carefully at the associated risks,” said Mike Ryan, WHO’s top emergency expert.
