If you look at the analysis tools of the cryptocurrency market, such as OnchainFX by Messari, the first thing that fixes you in the face is the discrepancy in the number of cryptocenote use compared to the real and speculative one.
Real use refers to the actual transactions in which the actual currencies are sent on the blockchain and not the IOUs moved to centralized exchange servers.
A currency, created as a joke, is crumbling everyone else, "serious" competitors in this respect.
Dogecoin tracks only Bitcoin and Ethereum in the active addresses in the last 24 hours. Bitcoin had 536k, Ethereum had 235k and Dogecoin was third with 72k active addresses. This is more than LTC, which was the fourth and much more than the BCash "the real bitcoin" that had only 17,000 active addresses in the last day.
What increases eyebrows even more is the disparity when we check the volumes of the exchanges (on the stock exchanges) compared to the volumes that move on the blockchain, expressed in USD. All cryptocurrencies have their volumes completely dominated by IOU exchanges on trade compared to onchain volumes. All except Dogecoin.
Bitcoin had more than $ 9 billion traded on the exchange and only $ 1.8 billion was moved to blockchain. This is actually a good score when juxtaposed with other coins.
Dogecoin absolutely dominates this metric: DOGE has had incredible $ 264 million onchain transactions and only $ 24 million in trading volume. It means that people use Dogecoin's blockchain to move "physical" chits instead of speculating on trade.
An important note to add: when looking at the active addresses, about 72k and the onchain volume of $ 264 million, we can easily conclude that the use of Dogecoin is absolutely organic. It is not, as in the case of BCH, where the 17k addresses have shifted $ 1.6 billion tokens (back and forth for fake activities and get people to FOMO to buy it).
Emerging use case
The biggest trump card for Doge's future is its current most frequent application as a rollover currency. With sites like Litebit, Anycoin, Suchlist, keys4coins, dogegifts, clockworkcrypto and an official Reddit flagship bot (it also speaks of a flagship bot Telegram), more ways to spend your DOGE sprout from day to day.
Dogecoin is very much in line with the "tip culture" of the United States, and with the increase of the Internet reward culture in the world, Dogecoin will also be widely used. Compared to the expensive Bitcoin, the threshold for Dogecoin is even lower, and is much nicer. Dogecoin could become the most popular "cryptocurrency tip" on the Internet in the United States.
