A man who opposition leader Ches Crosbie calls a “titan of the Newfoundland and Labrador business community” is dead.
Crosbie describes Frank Ryan as a special friend to both the PC Party and his family personally. Ryan was John Crosbie’s campaign manager when Crosbie nearly won federal leadership for PC in 1983.
Ryan has been intertwined with the history of the province, says Crosbie, from politics to business and philanthropy.
Congressman Seamus O’Regan, who lost his father just two weeks ago, says Ryan and Seamus O’Regan Senior were great friends.
Frank Ryan,
my father’s closest friend,
her best man
and my godfather,
died today. What a loss @Lynnburry, to his family and to everyone who knew him.
What a loss for this Province, which he loved so much.
He left his mark.
May he rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/rfR6vI0cnx– Seamus O’Regan (@SeamusORegan) December 4, 2020
In fact, O’Regan says it’s rare to see Ryan’s two closest friends and his father. He affectionately says that he would like to think that “somewhere, the Lamb flows freely and they don’t have to worry about their sugars.”
Frank Ryan leaves a large circle of family and friends to mourn, including his wife Lynn Burry.
