Vivo brings a new OriginOS design

Vivo used to detect Funtouch OS and aims to make up for the shortcomings of the system experience. OriginOS officially debuted in Shenzhen this afternoon as planned. Compared to before, this new system has obvious changes in visual style and interactive methods. Its main interface enables the so-called “Huarong Grid” system, which is officially inspired by the Huarong Road game. The main improvement is to allow main interface elements other than the dock column to no longer be limited to the standard icon type. You can set it to a larger rounded rectangle or a long stripe to create layout combinations with different look and feel. However, at first glance, “Huarong Grid” might be reminiscent of iOS 14, but in reality this type of aesthetic design that pursues patchwork and aesthetics has already appeared in the first Infobar system.

In addition to the normal icons, you can also place so-called atomic components in the “Huarong Grid”. In addition to its shape it is different from traditional icons, it also presents some changes in the way of interaction. In short, you can understand that it combines existing Android widget operations and icon long press shortcuts together to present them in a more visual way. For example, after clicking on the atomic component of the camera, you will see different lenses and can directly select the shooting mode. Also, in some components, there will be more than one matching app. Take the Atom Walkman as an example – although its style is no different from regular music players, it can provide the option to change the playback source after it is turned on. For users with more than one audio entertainment app on their cell phones, this design should come in handy.

When your mobile phone receives important notifications (such as flights, express delivery, etc.), OriginOS will show key information in a component called atomic notification in a more visual form than the traditional notification bar. Additionally, some app icons may also show some subtle changes in different states. For example, if there is an arrangement for the day, there will be an extra circle on the calendar date and the edge of the paper will be warped after using the notes.

Also, compared to the past, the display forms of OriginOS wallpapers have become more diverse: today the official introduced new sky windows, time windows and behavioral backgrounds. The Sky Window, as its name suggests, simulates different scenes based on the time of the place to create a dynamic background that changes over time. The time window will integrate the chosen background into different scenes, then overlay changing light and shadow effects. The final behavior background is able to interact with the actual user behavior. At the moment, Vivo is the first to open, is to accumulate the number of steps to promote the dynamic effect of flowers, and it is naturally expected that it will introduce more design in the future.

So in the interaction part of the UI, OriginOS offers a lot of freedom. It includes nearly all current mainstream buttons and gesture operation methods, allowing users to pair them themselves, and can choose up to 26 different navigation combinations. One of the coolest features is the super card package which can be called up in any interface, where you can add various mobile payment services, and it also directly integrates fingerprint scanning, which is very convenient to use.

As for features, the development team just mentioned the floating window today. Further details will be retained to continue sharing the developer activities of tomorrow, and adapted models and launch time for the new system will also be announced at that time. Also, considering the usage habits of existing users, OriginOS hasn’t completely abandoned the original design. The development team has created a “parallel world” so that users who don’t want to pay for learning can continue to have a relatively closer experience to the old system.
