Vitalik Buterin surprised the cryptic community after a seemingly sudden decision to make several ETH-donations to $ 100K for various projects focused on developing software solutions for the Ethereum network.
A small debate has unleashed everything
The situation came after a debate on Twitter with Ameen Soleimani, CEO of SpankChain, who highlighted the need to work on the scalability and speed of this blockchain, which for almost all of his life was the most important blockchain after Bitcoin, outdated by recent by Ripple (in terms of market capitalization).
At an answer from Mr. Buterin who said that the Ethereum development team was almost 100% close to completing a solution to the problem of scalability with Ethereum 2.0, Soleimani made a series of comments suggesting the possibility that there could be progress faster if there were more employees outside the Ethereum team working to improve blockchain.
In response to the reflections of Soleimani, Preston Van Loon of Prysmatic Labs made a comment emphasizing that being a relatively small startup, they could not devote themselves entirely to working on the developments of Ethereum as they had other projects to be implemented.
After this tweet, Vitalik simply decided to send 1000 ETHs to support the project because … YOLO
I just sent 1000 eth. Yolo.https: //t.co/s1q8K5Wlhs

After making this donation, Paul Hauner, a Lighthouse developer, wrote a tweet to Vitalik that commented that the team would "turn 1k ETH into more than one developer". Vitalik Buterin responded by accepting the request and sent another 1000 ETH to the development team.
Guess what I have to 🤣
(Although precommitment: this is the last)
The same instructions from Mikerah: please put the address somewhere on https://t.co/gz5CS5usfn so I can verify that you are not an evil hacker working for @northkoreadprk I'm trying to * increase * the centralization of the world

So, @VitalikButerin I have just contributed with 1,000 ETH a #lighthouse development. We are very grateful for this and we will transform it into dev power! ❤️ We are going to gradually liquidate in $$ as it is relatively stable compared to work. I look forward to further progress Eth 2.0! https://t.co/Vj1Ud4oGeA

Finally, the Twitter user Mikerah decided to test his fortune by telling Vitalik he would leave his studies at the University of Toronto to devote himself full-time to developing Ethereum 2.0 with ChainSafe Systems if he had received a similar donation, even Vitalik accepted.

Vitalik Buterin could be Tweeting "YOLO", but perhaps nobody takes Ethereum more seriously than him
In the end, Vitalik Buterin donated USD 300k to Ethereum. The beneficiary projects are focused on developing solutions to scale Ethereum.
The problem of scalability is of particular importance for this community because of its popularity which makes it the preferred platform for the development of decentralized applications, despite the fact that other projects such as EOS and Tron claim to be much more efficient.
BTW … Vitalik has not given ETH any more; however, given the number of users who asked for donations, he also decided to send random altcoins 😉
Sent 100 TPT: https://t.co/ttL6bNjBTB
I have no idea what the TPT is, just a few random coins that I got under control for some reason. So you can keep it.
