The consequences of an explosion on a truck tire can be devastating, this is what all truck drivers know and that is why the exploitation of used tires is strictly prohibited in most countries of the world. Huge pressure, a large volume of compressed air in it? everything can lead to injury or serious damage, not to mention the risk of an accident if the truck is in motion and loses control.
But the case we are talking about today is much stranger. It all happened at the end of October in Russia. This Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé, which you see in the photo, would have been on the road next to a truck, from the side. At one point, a truck blew up a tire. There was no direct contact of the truck with the car, but the blast wave was so big that it caused total damage to the SUV!
The explosion broke the side mirror, shattered the front side window and triggered the curtain airbags and the right front seat, as well as the pre-tensioned seat belts. It came out of the closures and the sunroof on the roof, and the shattering of the glass fired so hard that they broke a little and the side airbags, but they also reached everywhere on the dashboard, leaving deep traces in polymers, wood and inserts. Fortunately, the right of the front passenger was protected by the airbag, otherwise he could directly receive these splashes of glass.
Apparently, the car was insured and the damage is borne by the insurance company. But how many internal parts need to be replaced now and how much they cost, it has every chance of being confirmed as total damage. Only because of a shot tire that exploded next to it. And this must be a lesson and a reminder of the importance of avoiding the use of used and dangerous tires, especially on trucks and large vehicles!
