According to the WP, Governor Hogan explained that he updated the kit during an interview related to the memoir in July.

In another interview, he said, “I paid a few extra dollars for a kit and traded it like I was trading an iPhone for a faster, better test.”

WP said Labgenomics did not answer questions about the diagnostic kit.
