Tremble Chrome: How to activate and use the new Microsoft Edge vertical tabs | Technology

[ad_1]

We tell you everything you need to know and the process to toggle Microsoft’s new Edge browser vertical tabs on and off.

Here comes the vertical tabs to the new Microsoft Edge, and with it the ability to browse the Internet by having the tabs on the left side of the interface, and not on the top bar as we are used to.

For several reasons, you may be interested in slightly modifying the arrangement of the tabs when browsing the Internet using Edge, and we will be able to do so thanks to the release of the new vertical tabs that you can use if you know how to activate them and meet certain requirements.

This isn’t the first time we’ve told you about vertical tabs in Edge and you can now enable them as long as you have the developer or Canary version of Microsoft’s new browser. Currently this feature cannot be activated in the stable version of Edge and it is likely that it will not be available until early 2021. But if you have the compatible version of Edge you can now activate this feature and you don’t even need to use any kind of flag , but accessible via browser options.

This feature, at least in the developer version, is not activated by default and therefore must be activated by accessing the options menu which are the three horizontal dots located at the top right of the browser.

Once we have clicked on them we have to go to the “configuration” located at the bottom of the new drop-down window.

When we clicked on “settings” we have many options in the left area and we have to select “appearance”. Within the appearance we have to activate the option that is “Show vertical tabs button” which is just above the “show start button” option.

Once activated, we can access the vertical tabs. For this we will have appeared a new icon at the top left of the Edge interface which when pressed will activate the vertical tabs and when pressed again will deactivate them. When we have activated it, we will see on the left a series of small icons, which are the favicons of the different web pages that we have anchored or opened at that moment and which represent each of the tabs.

It’s so easy that you click on each of the tabs to go to the corresponding page so that it appears on the current page you currently have open. It works exactly like the horizontal tab bar of a lifetime. You can also use the pin button to dock the page so that whenever you have vertical tabs turned on, you have a fixed tab.

If you want to go back to the horizontal tab bar, press the vertical tabs button again, which is the new one that appeared in the upper left part of the browser interface.

If you want to permanently disable vertical tabs, go back to the Edge options, to display and disable the vertical tab button.

This way you know how to activate and use the new vertical tabs in Microsoft Edge.
