Tightening of preventive measures in several Arab countries

On Friday evening the Moroccan authorities decided to tighten measures to fight the Corona virus in the Greater Casablanca region, as well as in the nearby cities of Berrechid and Benslimane, starting today (Sunday) for a period of four weeks, due to the outbreak. of the “Covid-19” epidemic. A Moroccan government statement states that these measures “concern the prevention of all forms of night movement between 21:00 and 6:00, with the exception of transport for health or occupational reasons”.

The authorities also decided to close stadiums and sports parks by closing restaurants, bars and shops by eight in the evening, as well as to stop public transport by nine in the evening and to encourage remote work. Morocco today recorded 3,685 new cases of Coronavirus, compared to 4,151 cases yesterday, Thursday, considered the highest ever since the first case occurred in the country on March 2. The Casablanca region includes the largest number of injured, as it recorded 1,673 cases yesterday. The total number of injuries in Morocco reached 190,416, while the total number of deaths reached 3,205, after 73 deaths were recorded in the past twenty-four hours.

And in Iraq, the Ministry of Health and the Environment announced yesterday Saturday that it had recorded 55 deaths from the emerging coronavirus, bringing the total deaths from the virus in the country to 10,568 cases. In a press release, the ministry indicated that 3,204 new infections were registered, bringing the total number of infections to 449,153, and noting that 3,021 infected had recovered, bringing the total of those who recovered from the virus to 378,209.

Yesterday, Saturday, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Keela announced that 410 new infections with the new Corona virus and four deaths have been recorded in the last twenty-four hours. Al-Kailah said in a statement that the Gaza Strip recorded the highest number of new injuries, amounting to 156. The minister clarified that 36 patients lie “in intensive care rooms, including eight on ventilators”. The Palestinian Ministry of Health database shows that the total number of Coronavirus infections among Palestinians since the outbreak of the pandemic last March has come from the outbreak of the pandemic last March. Yesterday, the Syrian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 52 new cases of Coronavirus, which brings the number of infections recorded in the areas controlled by the regime to 5,319. The ministry said in a statement, of which it received a copy to the German news agency, that it had recorded the recovery of 37 cases of injured “Corona”, bringing the number to 1,692 cases. The statement indicated that four deaths have been recorded due to the reported infections with the Coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 264.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health also announced the registration of 1,534 new injuries, bringing the total number to 68479. In a press release, the ministry said it had recorded 7 new deaths, bringing the number of deaths to 559. The number of cases critics reached 242, according to the information ministry’s official website. On Sunday, the Minister of Interior and Municipalities of the provisional government, Mohamed Fahmy, decided to impose isolation measures on 79 villages and towns, for a period of one week.

The decision to close some municipalities for the third consecutive week aims to counter the spread of the new Corona virus, after having recorded a record of infections in the last period.
