The Volkswagen Group has launched two new electric SUV brands on the Chinese market

The ID.4 CROZZ model is produced by the joint venture that Volkswagen owns together with the Chinese group FAW, while the ID.4 X (photo) is produced by another joint venture, owned in collaboration with SAIC Motor.

The launch of the two models marks an important step for Volkswagen in the Chinese electric vehicle market, where it competes with Tesla and Nio Inc.

The German group has not announced the price of the two models.

VW’s Chinese branch head Stephan Woellenstein announced that the automaker will launch eight electric models of the ID family. in China by 2023.

Chinese authorities expect sales of electric and hybrid vehicles to increase by 20% by 2025 from 5% today.

Analysts predict that around 1.1 million electric and hybrid vehicles will be sold in the Chinese market this year.

The Volkswagen Group portfolio consists of 12 brands, including VW, Audi, Porsche, Skoda, Lamborghini, Seat, Bentley and Bugatti, as well as MAN and Scania trucks.
