Today it is no surprise that the Blockchain courses are now adopted by institutions as a way to educate and equip the next generation of crypto-engineers to ensure that the growing demand for technology and applications is met.
Now, reports indicate that the University of California, in Los Angeles (UCLA), is preparing to launch its first Blockchain engineering course. This was made possible by a considerable donation from MouseBelt Blockchain Accelerator.
UCLA will perform the technical blockchain from next year January
UCLA previously organized cryptocurrency and blockchain seminars through the Anderson School of Management. Now the High School has revealed that it will conduct a complete Blockchain engineering technical course from the beginning of 2019. The Blockchain programming course will be offered in the university as a 4-credit special topics course.
It will be an elective course of the higher division that will be open to students of computer science, electrical engineering and computer engineering. It will cover topics such as an overview of Blockchain-based concepts, Ethereum, cryptographic tokens, decentralized apps (dApps), hash functions, and smart contracts to name a few.
The Blockchain programming course will be conducted by John D. Villasenor, professor of management, electrical engineering, electronics and public policy departments. His assistants will be Andrew Batta and Jason Huan, both of whom facilitated the Blockchain workshops via Blockchain at UCLA. MouseBelt Blockchain Accelerator is a renowned organization that makes investments in blockchain-based projects. Giving them access to the crypto developers and engineers who will work on their projects, and dedicated support staff, such as marketing officials and business management experts to help in real cases.
The company said it is studying plans to include more schools in the university program starting next year. Citing that moves towards an international expansion are already under way. MouseBelt's Chief Operations Officer Patrick McLain told CCN via an e-mail:
"While the market looks scary now, we believe the future is bright for Crypto and Blockchain. There is no better way to know how to invest in the future of Blockchain than investing in our young people. start to create a bright future through our university program. "
The registration slots quickly filled up
This course is accredited by UCLA, and in reality requires candidates to have a background or a programming idea from the base level classes. A MouseBelt representative who spoke with CCN said the slots for the course had been taken despite the fact that the registration was only open a few days ago. Taking this step, UCLA has now joined the long list of universities offering full Blockchain courses.
The University of Tokyo also offers DLT
In early November, the University of Tokyo announced that it would start offering a DLT course in its engineering department. The DLT course, now called the Blockchain Innovation Donation Course, came to light on November 1st. The program is scheduled to run until October 2021. The plans for the DLT course were made thanks to substantial donations totaling around $ 800,000 from organizations such as the banking giant Sumimoto Mitsui and the Ethereum Foundation.
