Councilor Saeed Marei, President of the Supreme Constitutional Court and Secretary General of the Union of Arab Courts and Constitutional Councils, received Counselor Dr. Khaled Al-Qadi, President of the Arab Center for Awareness of Law, who presented to him the scientific report of the Forum for Challenges of Legal Culture in the Arab World, prepared under his presidency, published in February in the past, but circumstances have prevented the Crown from presenting it in the last period.
The meeting was attended by councilor Paul Fahmy, vice president of the Supreme Constitutional Court and the official spokesperson of the court.
Mari welcomed the forum chairman, praising the efforts made by the Arab Center for Awareness of Law to spread legal culture in the Arab world, and one of its activities was hosted years ago by the Supreme Constitutional Court at the courtroom, and had a great impact on participants from various Arab countries.
For his part, the judge stressed during the meeting the importance of the pivotal role of the Union of Arab Constitutional Courts in promoting legal research and studies relating to the constitutional judiciary, in particular those relating to human rights, and in contributing to diffusion of the constitutional culture in Arab societies.
At the end of the meeting, the judge presented the center’s shield with gratitude, pride and appreciation to Councilor Saeed Marei, and also presented the center’s shield to Councilor Paul Fahmy.
Interestingly, the Forum on Legal Culture in the Arab World took place over a three-day period, under the auspices and headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, and in collaboration and joint organization with the Arab Center for Awareness of right. It prevents the spread of legal culture in the Arab world, with the participation of all the actors to implement this strategy, the most important of which is the Union of Arab Courts and Constitutional Councils.
