Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, said on Twitter today, Saturday, August 1, that the UAE has started the first unit at the Barakah nuclear power plant.
“We announce today that the UAE has managed to operate the first peaceful nuclear reactor in the Arab world,” he wrote in a tweet.
“The work teams were able to load the nuclear fuel packages, conduct comprehensive tests and successfully complete the operation,” he added.
