A college dropout is using Blockchain technology to save a lot of money. At the age of 26, Maxine Ryan entered the blockchain space five years ago and has not been able to leave the space since. At the time, she was attending a degree in International Relations, but she felt the need to do something that would allow her to help other people.
Everything changed when he met George Harrap who
he explained the new technology and she was in love. In Blockchain
technology found something that had a real-life application that would help
she fulfills her dream of helping people.
Together with Harrap, in 2014 they founded Bitspark, a multinational payment company that allows people to send money abroad without the need for a bank account and related fees. In short, the company is designed to save money for those who need it most.

Ryan is the company's chief operating officer
while Harrap is the CEO. The company operates in Asia, a continent that suffers
from the poor system of financial services. However, the continent has one of the
the largest and fastest growing workforce in the world.
According to World Bank estimates, there are
up to a billion adults working on the continent without a bank
accounts. It is a situation that makes it difficult for those who work abroad
to send money to their relatives and friends in their countries of origin.
While Ryan and Harrap thought of ways to use Blockchain technology for the good of people, he remembered his struggles while living in Hong Kong. He realized that technology could offer a solution that allowed workers to deposit money from one place and that their families or friends could collect from another place almost instantly to meager compensation.
Speaking at CNBC, he said, "It's a cash-in, cash-out solution".
Bitspark started in Hong Kong, but now it has grown
to an online platform that is present in Ghana, Nigeria, Malaysia, Vietnam,
Indonesia, the Philippines and Pakistan.
Since he has achieved so much at a young age
he wonders what his philosophy of life might be "In my 20 years, I'd rather fight
and work for myself rather than feeling really comfortable and working for someone
other."
