Most of the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula and Arab countries have seen two types of eclipses, annular and partial, with varying proportions, as the eclipse passed through the southern Arab world.
The eclipse coincides with the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, a day called the summer solstice, when the sun reaches its maximum mile to the north.
The annular eclipse path started in Central Africa and crossed South Sudan and Djibouti, then Yemen and parts of the Empty Quarter, then the Sultanate of Oman, and then Pakistan, India and China, until it ended in the Ocean Pacific.
During its path, the eclipse was observed annularly in the regions through which it passed up to 98%, while in the neighboring areas on both sides of the path, the eclipse was partial.
This is the second eclipse in the region after the annular eclipse that most countries of the Arabian Peninsula witnessed on December 26, 2019, with the moon appearing in front of the sun relative to Earth.
It is called the “Ring of Fire”, as the sun appears through it as a golden ring and the moon covers most of its parts from the center.
It should be noted that the Iranian parliament has suspended its meeting for half an hour to perform the eclipse prayer.
