English Football Association (FA) president Greg Clarke resigned on Tuesday following a statement addressed to black footballers, the BBC informed. He is also vice president of FIFA.

During the parliamentary session, Clarke apologized after being urged to do so by Congressman Kevin Brennan.
Clarke was therefore “deeply saddened” by the insult she caused by using the term “black footballers”.
“My unacceptable words in front of parliament have been a disservice to our game and to those who watch it, play it, referee and administer it. This has crystallized my determination to move forward. I am deeply saddened to have offended those. Different football communities that I am. and others we have worked so hard to integrate. “ Clarke said after the resignation.
“As someone who loves football and has been serving our game for decades, it is right to put the interests of football first. 2020 was a busy year and I actively thought about standing aside for a while to make space for a new one. President ” Clarke added.
His duties will be temporarily taken over by FA Vice President Peter McCormick, according to News.ro.
