At the end of July this year, Dyson had taken the initiative to release a vacuum cleaner called omni-glide in South Korea, but the official didn’t advertise this device in other regions at the time. Today, the omni-glide series is officially on sale in Mainland China, and we were also able to gain a deeper understanding of this “more flexible” vacuum cleaner from Dyson. As you can see from the name, omni-glide focuses on the all-round smooth suction experience. The main reason it can achieve this is that it features a universal roller vacuum head with double strips of soft velvet brushes.
Simply put, you can think of this tip as a powerful update to the original Fluffy tip. It is also designed for hard floors common in Asia. The dual brush bars driven by the built-in motor rotate in opposite directions, so it can suck up all kinds of dust in the process of pushing forward and pulling back at the same time, reducing users to scrub back and forth in the same area. Trouble. At the same time, the suction head is also equipped with four pulleys that can rotate 360 degrees horizontally. Such a mechanical structure can facilitate the user to perform the cleaning operations in various ways such as front and rear, horizontal, arch and rotation, allowing to “walk easily through the complex domestic environment”.
In addition to the changes in the tip, the body of the omni-glide has also undergone important changes. Dyson did not use the iconic gun design on this product, but made the body completely straight (the switch naturally changed from a “trigger” style to a click button), so that the user can clean the bottom of low furniture (minimum 8 cm) with a flat grip. At the same time, the weight of the omni-glide host is kept at 1.07kg, the built-in battery is still replaceable, and it supports charging alone or via a vacuum cleaner.
In terms of endurance, the omni-glide can be used for up to 20 minutes when the power saving mode is activated and the non-electric suction head is used, and it takes 3.5 hours to fully charge the battery. As for suction power, under the support of the 105,000 rpm engine and eight cyclone structure, the omni-glide can deliver up to 50AW of suction when the powerful mode is activated. The dust collector has a capacity of 0.2 liters and the device is equipped with an ePTFE porous membrane filtration system, which can “absorb and block 99.9% of fine dust down to 0.3 μm”.
In terms of release information, Dyson has launched two models, omni-glide and omni-glide +, in China. The two are purple and gold respectively. The difference in configuration is that omni-glide + needs narrower slot LED lighting tip, long / short extension rod, universal roller soft tip, split soft tip, desktop and electric tip Mattress vents are available in both versions. They are priced at RMB 3,390 (around HK $ 3,990 / NT $ 14,700) and RMB 3,590 (around HK $ 4,230 / NT $ 15,500) and are now available for purchase through Dyson Tmall or WeChat.
