The Litecoin price (LTC / USD) falls on Monday afternoon trading

The Litecoin price (LTC / USD) struggled to keep the $ 60 mark on Monday after suffering significant losses in the last few sessions.

Most of Litecoin's recent losses occurred on Friday afternoon as the digital currency lost momentum after rising to a maximum of three weeks of $ 64.42. The currency closed the session at $ 61.90 and then suffered another decline which brought its price to below $ 60 in the Saturday morning session. However, the currency managed to recover in the afternoon and ended the session for $ 61.61.

Litecoin has continued to struggle throughout the Sunday session, with its price having seen frequent fluctuations. The $ 60 support was held back, albeit barely, in late trading, allowing LTC to rebound again and mitigate losses for that day. Litecoin closed the session on Sunday at $ 61.14, only slightly lower than its initial level of $ 61.63.

Despite yesterday's late rebound, Litecoin failed to gain enough momentum in today's trading. The price of Litecoin, already falling, has plummeted in recent trade, plummeting from around $ 61 to an intraday low of $ 59.74 over just over an hour. Since then, the currency has managed to recover some of its losses, with its price currently around $ 60, according to data from the Coinmarketcap digital tracker.

The market activity remained strong during today's action-packed session, with recent data showing that around $ 459 million LTC tokens have changed in the last 24 hours. In particular, a trading volume ($ 77.3 million), generated by a small exchange of DOPI with cryptographic exchange, was excluded by Coinmaketcap from that figure.

In today's trading, Litecoin's price was $ 60.01, starting at 16:16 BST. The digital currency has lost 1.9% of its value in the last 24 hours.
