The Litecoin price (LTC / USD) managed to claim the value of $ 50 after seeing significant gains over the past 24 hours.
Like some of its major crypto-competitors, LTC saw a sharp rise in the early hours of yesterday's trading, which brought its price to an intraday high of $ 51.03. Initially, the currency could not remain at these levels and quickly pulled back to its initial level of $ 49.56. However, Litecoin was able to launch a steady progress in the afternoon session and eventually finished the session in green. Litecoin closed the session at $ 50.27, closing its first close above $ 50 in four days.
The advance of the currency continued in today's trading, allowing LTC to achieve a stable position above the value of $ 50. The advance accelerated in the afternoon, with the price of the coin rising to a maximum of four days over the $ 51.30 sign. At the time of writing this article, the price of Litecoin was around $ 51.40, according to data from the Coinmarketcap digital tracker.
The rally appears to be supported by significant commercial activity on Bithumb, the largest cryptic exchange in South Korea. According to Coinmarketcap data, the trading platform has processed $ 190 million of LTC transactions in the last 24 hours and currently quotes a price $ 51.85 for cryptocurrency. In particular, Coinmarketcap did not include the volume of Bitcoin in its total volume of 24 hours for LTC ($ 335 million), but takes into account the quoted price of the exchange, which is higher than the market average.
In today's trading, Litecoin's price was $ 51.41, like 14:41 GMT. The digital currency has gained almost 3% in the last 24 hours, show the Coinmarketcap data. The total market capitalization of the currency now stands at just over $ 3 billion.
