Humanity.co announced the general availability of its app for Android that would allow people to claim their data as properties using blockchain technology. An iPhone app will soon be launched.
The # My31 apps for the company's iPhone and Android are aimed at providing a global Consensus based on health data, but are planning to expand. The personal data market is worth $ 250 billion, but there is no effective way for people to manage their information and give consent.
According to the Humanity.co website, its data ownership model would allow people to be reimbursed for the use of their data and consumers might choose to donate information for medical research and other uses. The effort of The Humanity.co is worth looking forward, but there is also an interesting blockchain for companies. Humanity.co is filing its trail of digital data – the information is not centralized in one place – on the IBM Blockchain Platform, which uses Hyperledger Fabric.
Adam Gunther, director of the trusted blockchain identity at IBM, said Humanity.co will work together to prototype the connections between the general consensus ledger of the company and Sovrin, a decentralized blockchain network designed to provide a permanent portable identity. Sovrin, which counts Workday, IBM and Cisco as initial stewards, aims to link siloed systems with blockchain and end replication of personal data as well as security risks. Humanity.co will participate in Sovrin.
"We will work to bring together the Sovrin ecosystem and humanity," said Gunther. "Patient data is just an application, but there are banks, telcos, health, peer-to-peer and isolated ecosystems."

Gunther added that the use of Humanity of the IBM blockchain platform is not centralized, but offers a virtual view of aggregate data. Humanity will be enabled by a network of networks that use Sovrin.
However, there is still a lot of work to do so that businesses use effort like Sovrin and Humanity in a simple way. Gunther acknowledged that you need to write a lot of code until there is a point where a simple application programming interface links these blockchain networks.
