COVID-19 outbreak at Southbridge Roseview long-term care home grows with 36 residents, 15 employees test positive
THUNDER BAY – A COVIDThe -19 outbreak in a Thunder Bay long-term care home continues to spread, with the company announcing more than 50 residents and staff so far tested positive on Sunday morning.
The outbreak a Southbridge Roseview above Shuniah Street resulted in the death of a resident, news confirmed in a short message posted on the company’s website Saturday.
On Sunday, the company announced that 36 residents and 15 staff members had tested positive COVID-19.
Those numbers had more than doubled from the day before when Southbridge reported 18 residents and 6 positive employees.
The nursing home has about 157 residents and 140 employees.
The outbreak a Roseview was first reported in a unit on November 18, after a staff member tested positive. The outbreak was declared at facility level three days later, after the first cases were confirmed in residents.
