A little girl was left crying and throwing up after tripping face down in the dog mess on the sidewalk.

Five-year-old Emelia was walking home from school with her mom, Sarah Varley, yesterday when she did a somersault outside Shroggs Park in Halifax.

To make matters worse, she fell on top of a large pile of dog poop that went to Emelia’s school top, hands, face, and even into her mouth.

The feces had been covered with some leaves in the middle of the path.

Sarah, from Boothtown, told Yorkshire Live: ‘The smell made her sick. She really is a gaggy little girl as she is. Any smell will make her vomit. He is afraid of germs.

Emelia was cleaned up by her mother and, luckily, she did not become seriously ill.

Sarah, a pet owner, promised to report the incident to the council, as she called the dog sitters in the area for not picking up their pets.

Pet owners and walkers who don’t clean after their dogs can be subject to on-the-spot fines of up to £ 100.

Sarah said: ‘It’s disgusting. We have two dogs and we always take them back.

“It’s a nightmare near the school. People come by to take dogs into the park, but they don’t pick up the mess. They shouldn’t have dogs if they don’t clean up after them.

Contact with dog feces can be dangerous for humans, as it could lead to Toxocariasis.

The infection mainly causes stomach pain, cough, or fever, but can occasionally cause brain, eye, lung, or liver problems.
