The Minister of Finance, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajar, arrived in Beirut to direct the Kuwait delegation to the meeting of foreign ministers and ministers interested in the economic and social council which prepares the summit of Arab economic and social development.
He was greeted by the Lebanese Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil and the ambassador of the Arab diplomatic corps, Ambassador Abdel-Al Al-Qena & i.
Previously, Beirut had held a committee meeting on the follow-up and preparation of the senior-level summit to discuss draft agenda items and a meeting of the committee of delegates and senior officials.
It is worth mentioning that the summit will hold its fourth session on Sunday with the title "prosperity of the factors of peace".
Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Nabil Al-Abd Al-Jalil, expressed hope that the Arab economic summit will lead to decisions that strengthen Arab economic and social action in all fields .
Al-Abdaljalil said that Kuwait and Lebanon enjoy a stable and common relationship and Kuwait is always in favor of Lebanon.
On the other hand, he said that the joint meeting of permanent and high-level officials of the Economic and Social Council will discuss various issues of Arab common economic and social action, in particular the follow-up to the resolutions of the Arab summit. for economic and social development in its third session and the initiative of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on the Arab food security and emergency security program Arab food products, integration, trade and livestock products in the Arab region.
The meeting will also discuss the developments in the free trade area and the requirements for the creation of the Arab Customs Union and the sustainable energy strategy for the Arab world and will start work on establishing the common Arab market for 39. electricity and activate a joint Arab action between tourism and cultural sectors in the Arab countries and the assistance program for the economic burdens of receiving Syrian refugees and their impact. The host countries, as well as the challenges United Nations Employment and Rescue Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
The preparatory meetings for the summit were initiated by the meeting of ministers of the Arab foreign minister in preparation for the summit, which will take place through the participation of the leaders of the Arab countries.
