The error concerns all wallets previously released in both the desktop and CLI versions, the company behind the project announced on Twitter. The problem was solved and Beam said in a post on Medium that he is currently working with providers to update their systems.
In another tweet, the Beam development team asked all users to immediately stop the Beam Wallet immediately. However, based on the message, they should not delete the wallet database, as the bug does not affect the data in the wallet, secret keys or passwords. Instead, they need to uninstall the wallet, download it again from the beam.mw/downloads website and install the new application.
Beam was launched on January 3, becoming the first coin based on Mimblewimble, a protocol originally developed in 2016 to improve the scalability of the Bitcoin network and improve the privacy of its users. The cryptocurrency is already available for trading on the decentralized Bisq platform which has also promised to add Grin, another Mimblewimble coin which should be launched on the mainnet by the end of this month.

Users of the Wirex platform in the European Economic Area (EEA) can now purchase, store, convert and spend the waves with their Wirex Visa cards, the UK-based company announced in a blog post. The service also supports bitcoin core (BTC), litecoin (LTC), ripple (XRP) and ether (ETH).
"The introduction of Wirex's wave portfolios is an exciting development for both the crypto-investors and our Wirex card users to visit around the world," commented co-founder Pavel Matveev. "To travel, accepting the waves in your wallet means you can enjoy a wider range of currencies to exchange and store," added his partner Dmitry Lazarichev.
Last month, Wirex completed the introduction of Iban support for all euro accounts. EEA users can now fund their account by bank transfer and receive payments in euros. The fintech startup also raised the funding limits for EEA account holders for £ 15,000, € 16,000 and $ 20,000. The company is now planning to expand into North American markets.

The Exmo team attributed the influx of new traders to Binance's decision to limit access to its platform for residents of a number of countries under sanctions, including Belarus.
At the end of November, Binance, which is currently the largest exchange of digital resources per daily trading volume, has informed its Belarusian users that its services will no longer be available in their country. In correspondence with customers from Belarus, the exchange urged them to read the latest version of its Terms of Use. Under the new ToU agreement, traders acknowledge and declare that they are not on any list of commercial or economic sanctions, such as those prepared by the UK Security Council and the US Treasury Department's Foreign Assets Control Office ( OFAC).
Exmo has registered 1.5 million users since its launch five years ago. According to the report, its daily trading volume reaches $ 40 million. The exchange, which supports trading pairs with fiat currencies such as the Russian ruble and the Ukrainian hryvnia, is currently in 56th place in the Coinmarketcap volume, with a daily volume of $ 20 million.
